I was so glad that I was able to work my schedule around to meet this little bundle when he was just 3 weeks. He had his own plans about the session, and I’m so glad he wanted to show off his beautiful eyes! Thank you, family, for allowing me to spotlight your precious family for you; it was a true honor.

Winning Image from International Professional Photographer’s Network (YAY, I won!)

You may recognize the following image from a previous post….my new favorite image. Being such, I entered it into a monthly image contest on the prestigious IPPN, or International Professional Photographer’s Network. IPPN is a private network of professional photographers from around the globe that I am proud to be a part of. Each month they hold an image competition, in which some of the best photographers in the UK and around the world enter their work, along with EXIF data, to compete for gold, silver or bronze wins. An anonymous panel of well-qualified judges vote on the images. The level of competition is quite high.

Imagine my great delight when my new favorite image won a GOLD MEDAL for the September image competition!! I could not be more pleased and proud. Please view mine and the other (fabulous!) winning images for the month on the IPPN homepage.

I could have played with this little girl all day!! Well, I have to say I had more fun because it was also playing with my dear, life-long friend –thanks, L.!! I get so excited every time a new little one enters her family, and they all couldn’t rate any higher on the cuteness scale! Baby Clara epitomizes the cute baby, I think. You can make up your own mind….

I got to take a nice little break from High School Senior Photos last week to photograph a new little one just starting out. He’s got so much in front of him! I hope he takes it all in stride. One of the highlights of my job, whether photographing high school seniors, newborns, couples or kids, is exploring new places and finding wonderful new compositions and scenes for my portraits. It sure was a treat to visit this lovely waterfront home again and work with these great kids! Together, we found secret hiding places, ran from dinosaurs and even rowed a boat! And all on a misty, gray, lovely PNW day in Kitsap.
